FFA claims 4 State Titles
The Spencer County High School Future Farmers of America continued their string of excellence last week, winning multiple contests at the Kentucky State Fair, including first place finishes in four categories. For the 12th consecutive year, the Spencer County team won the Meats Judging contest. Max Dippel, Cameron Curran, Luke Williamson and Michael Bentley made up the team, with WIlliamson scoring the highest individually. The SCHS Dairy Evaluation team won top honors for the 10th time in 12 years with the team of Jake Whitely, Ryan Linton, Marissa Allen and Tanner Goodlett. Skylar Volz was the overall state winner in seed identification. Stephanie Keener, Briar Honeycutt, Connor Foster and Trinity Johnson placed third in Argronomy. Makala Hatzman placed FIRST in overall in livestock judging, while Georgi Herndon, Alexis Cook and Madisyn Caudill placed third.
The National Honor Society of High School Scholars recently announced Tamara Leigh Humphrey of SCHS has been selected to become a member. The Society recognizes top scholoars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment. Congrats Tamara!
