I hope you have all had a wonderful week! I'm excited about tonight because we are having a district wide math night at Spencer County High School cafeteria from 5:30-6:45. Parents can attend informative sessions for all grade levels while students enjoy a math game session. Every student who attends the math night will receive a free pass to the Spencer County vs. Woodford County football game immediately following the math event. They will also receive a drink and popcorn voucher for the concession stand.
A program I would also like to introduce to you is offered by Hosparus who offers a free Grief Relief program for schools. Through participation in this program, students are provided with grief education and expressive techniques to promote safe ways to tell their story and share their thoughts and feelings. Licensed counselors and Master’s Level Intern Students facilitate the sessions. Grief Relief is provided at your school in six, one-hour sessions. We ask that the group size be limited to 5 to 8 students who have experienced a loss due to death in the last two years. Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center (HGCC) will provide all forms and materials for the sessions including all handouts for the students and parents/guardians. If you have any questions regarding this program please contact Ashley Phillips, Guidance Counselor at SCES.
I'd like to end by wishing a very happy birthday to some very special staff members. Debby Cannon, Diana Welch, and Veronica Crouch are all celebrating birthdays this week. I wish them all the best and many more to come!
Have an amazing week and I truly hope to see you at our Math Night/Football game this evening!
