I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing spring break! I was able to take a day to go see my growing grandbaby! I worked the rest of the week on creating items that will be best for our students. The Kentucky Academic Standards are slightly changing to be more rigorous and meaningful to our children. We are always seeking for ways to improve what we are doing educationally for our students! I'm very excited and encouraged to begin this work!
I am beginning a new program called "Cooks and Books". One class will be chosen each month to receive a book that will go along with something they are serving in our cafeteria. We hope that this will help promote our delicious and nutritious meals being served for breakfast and lunch. We encourage you to join us and enjoy school meals!!
I also would like to remind you that we will have our spring Book Fair the week of April 15-19 from 9:00-3:00 each day. We look forward to seeing you there. Our students always get excited about reading and we love to see that.
Mrs. Phillips has worked so hard on Career day which we will host Friday, April 12! I would like to take time to thank our many wonderful volunteers who are coming in that day to teach our children. Thank you as well to Mrs. Phillips for your hard work and preparation for this day!
The FRC will be hosting a Father/Son Build and Bond event on Tuesday, April 16 from 5:30-7:00. We would love to see as many of you as we can! This will be a wonderful event for boys and someone special to them.
Lastly, we will have an author coming to visit on April 18th! Her name is Ann Gabhart and she will be visiting all of our students in the afternoon. We are so lucky to have her!
Again, I hope you had a fantastic break. I look forward to seeing all the smiling faces tomorrow! Have a great day.
