What's Happening at TES

Each year we hold an anti-bullying conference for our 5th grade students.  They have a day packed full of special activities that supports improvement of their communication skills with peers, reduce incidences of relational aggression and help start the school year in a positive, proactive way.

The girls' day is called 'Very Important Girls’ Day'.
All of the girls’ activities are at Taylorsville Elementary and conducted by staff members from our district and the public library.
All the ladies enjoy a special luncheon provided by our cafeteria.

The boys' day is titled 'No Girls Allowed Day'.  All the boys' activities are held here at TES.  Their activities are conducted by staff members that work with and in our district.  They enjoy a special cook-out here on campus provided by our cafeteria.

RECOGNITION FOR state test SCORES (Oct. & May)

Proficient and Distinguished students from the the previous school year are recognized twice each year at TES.  First recognition is in October after the release of test scoress by stae.  This is a certificate ceremony during the day, and that evening they are also invited back for a Cook Out that to enjoy a meal with their family and watch the water balloons fly. Each year the distinguished scores earn them two water balloons to throw at brave faculty and staff. Proficient scores earn them one water balloon to throw.

Distinguished students are recognized by the district each year as well.  They are invited to bring their families to SCHS at for a recognition ceremony, and the students will be given admission with 1 parent free to that evening's ball game (where they are recognized in public).

We also celebrate again at TES in May, at our Testing Olympic Ceremonies!  Students receive medals for their scores and homeroom teams rally to get pepped up for the current years' testing.
