Parent Letter

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Kindergarten, and the beginning of your child’s journey to learning.  We are so excited to be your child’s teachers.  We truly understand the apprehension that you are feeling as you get your child ready for the first day of school.  Please know that we will be doing everything in our power to fill your child’s days with a genuine love for school.  Your child will have those “first-day-of-school-butterflies,” a little scared and real excited.  We would like to offer some suggestions to help make your child’s first step into Kindergarten easier.  It is best to establish the routine on the first day of school, that you and your child will follow the rest of the year.  If he/she is going to ride the bus, start this the first day.  If he/she is going to get drop off in the car line, start this the first day.  Feel Free to meet your child in the lobby or cafeteria and bring him/her to our classroom the first day, please give him/her a kiss, say “goodbye” and leave. Please do not linger.  This will make your child anxious. We will be sending a note on the first day of school to let you know all the things we discovered together.

Health Fair / Readifest July 27th, at Spencer County High school from 9:00 am to 11:30 a.m.  At this event there will be over 60 booths with free health screenings, free school supplies, and door prizes.

Open House August 1st- You are invited, encouraged, and welcomed to come. Open house will be August 2nd, at 5:30-7:00 come and go as you please. Our classroom is located in the North Hall, Red Pod.  Look for a big red square on the floor in the hall and our classroom will be the second on the left (B2). We hope you can attend this since it makes the first day easier for you and your child.  Please bring all school supplies.
