Dear 4th Grade Students and Parents,
My name is Mrs. Tobbe and I will be your 4th grade teacher in August! I have been teaching at Spencer County Elementary School for 15 years. I have taught 2nd-5th grades, was the Curriculum Coach for 2 years, and have loved all of my years here! There is truly something magical about this place and I believe it is a combination of students, parents, and teachers.
I have been married for 17 years to my husband James. We live on 70 acres in Mount Eden and we love the country life. We have chickens, creeks, barns, dogs, and most importantly two sons. My oldest son, Jackson is 13 and will be an 8th grader in the fall. He loves to fish, read, and play football! My youngest son, Ryan will be a 6th grader at SCMS in the fall. Ry loves anything sports or outdoors related!
I have learned a lot from my different experiences here at SCES but one thing that has always been important and a key to success is CONSISTENCY! I will always be consistent with my expectations for students. I will use Remind to communicate with parents. The students will have a Classroom Connector folder that will communicate their learning for the day/week. I will also be sending home newsletters to make announcements and give reminders. I don’t believe in a lot of homework- kids needs to be active! Homework will come home on Monday and will be due Friday.
I will be teaching your child Reading and Writing. Mrs. Dill will be teaching my class Math and Science, while I teach her class Reading and Writing. We will work closely together to meet the needs of all of our students. The easiest and quickest way to get in contact with me is through email. Erin.firstname.lastname@example.org I often check my email throughout the summer, weekends, and evenings.
Please have a safe and wonderful summer! PLEASE READ OVER THE SUMMER AND PRACTICE YOUR MULTIPLICATION FACTS. I cannot wait to meet you at the Open House on Monday, August 5th 5:30-7:00 and to spend the school year with you. I think we will have a great time working hard and having fun while we do it! Some of the items on my supply list can be picked up at Health Fair Readifest on July 27th at SCHS from 9-11 am. The first day for students in the 19-20 school year is Wednesday, August 7th.
