Our School Schedule for Finley's First Graders

Our School Day Schedule: We are working on getting our schedule perfected over the first couple of weeks of school!smiley

8:40 to 8:50 am. Everyone meets in the gym for morning announcements with Mr. Rucker and the National Anthem.

8:50 to 9:00 am. Morning work in the room once attendance is taken. Collecting any notes from parents completed at this time.

9:00 to 9:30 am. Daily Calendar Time

9:30 to 10:00 am. Reading Instruction

10:00 to 10:55 am. RTI time (Response to Intervention)

10:55 to 11:05 am. Snack time while focusing on Reading Rainbow

11:05 to 11:30 am. Reading/Writing Literacy Block

11:30 to 12:20 pm. Special Area time Students will go to the following special areas on the following days :

Monday  Music

Tuesday  Computer Lab

Wednesday  (PE with Mrs. Hahn) Please make sure that your child has tennis shoes for PE to avoid a loss of a tiger paw.

Thursday  Art

Friday This special area rotates every 9 weeks, so during the first 9 weeks of school we will have Music. During the second 9 weeks we will have  Computer Lab. During the third 9 weeks, we will have  PE. Finally, during the last 9 weeks of school, we will have Art.

12:20 to 12:30 pm. Return to room to pick up lunchboxes and walk to lunchroom.

12:30 to 1:00 pm. LUNCH (We enter on side A and sit at the second table, right in front of cafeteria door.)

1:05 to 2:15 pm. Math Block

2:15 to 2:45 pm. Literacy and Math Center Time

2:45 to 3 pm. Large Motor time outdoors, unless weather is bad. (Recess)

3:00 to 3:30 pm. End of day read-aloud, share time of learning for the day

3:30 pm. Get ready for dismissal/ walkers/car-riders dismissed at 3:40 pm., bus riders walked to lot for buses at 3:45 approximately. Any buses not on lot at dismissal, students are sent to the caferteria until bus arrives with staff watching until last bus arrives to pick up students.
