The fact that children can make beautiful music is less significant
than the fact that music can make beautiful children.
Welcome to Music! My name is Sarah Grubb and I am overjoyed to join the faculty at Spencer County Elementary School this year. I am originally from Connecticut, where I attended the University of Connecticut. I received a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from UConn and a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. I have taught at Woodford County High School for the last six years, teaching Mixed Choir, Advanced Choir, Handbells, Music Appreciation, Piano Lab, Independent Musicianship, and Arts & Humanities. I have directed 4 musicals and 2 acapella groups, adjudicated vocal festivals through KMEA and CMEA, directed children and adult choirs, taught private vocal and piano lessons, and directed music at a camp for people with disabilities.
My dream has always been to teach elementary music. Building an excitement for music at an early age creates a foundation of musicianship. I am eager to help your children appreciate music and its many gifts. I have many exciting things planned for this year and cannot wait to work with your little musicians!
