October 2nd, 2020 SCHS Newsletter

October 2, 2020

Happy Friday, Bear Family! We had a smooth start to in person instruction as all our teachers put in the hard work necessary to prepare and execute a comprehensive plan. I feel very safe with all our precautions, and would have no reservations about having my child attend SCHS. It is great to have kids back in the building, even if in limited numbers! We know that we can make a much bigger impact when we get kids in front of teachers. Remind your child that although they only attend in person for 2 days, it is STILL a 5 day work week, and they should have assignments to work on outside the classroom in order to keep them on track.

Boys Golf to State

Congratulations to the SCHS Boys Golf Team for winning the Region 5 Tournament!   They are the first team to win regionals and qualify for state for Golf (or any sport) and are headed to State Tournament in Bowling Green next week.  The winning team consists of Seniors: JT Howie, Kaleb Martin and Bayley Riley, Junior Gabe Shelley and Freshman, Seth Shelley!  Good luck guys!

School Pictures

Strawbridge will be here Monday 10/5 at 8AM and then again on Thursday 10/8 to take all students and staff pictures for the yearbook and school identification badges. Virtual Students can come in on Thursday morning - we will take those that can get here at 8 right away so that you can limit your exposure.

Explanation of the Course Map

A note - just use the due dates and progress tracker in Edgenuity is a general guide.  As long your student is staying ahead of the progress tracker in each course, they should be on track to finish by the end of the year or semester (based on the course).   They do not have to follow the calendar exactly.

We are suggesting that all students try to be caught up or ahead in all Edgenuity courses by the end of Fall Break.
