Vision Statement

The school media center is a bright and welcoming state-of-the-art facility that provides students and teachers the opportunity to use inquiry skills to read, research, analyze, evaluate, and create using a variety of literacies as a strategy to advance learners in acquiring the 21st century skills needed to be successful and productive citizens.

Mission Statement

The Spencer County High School Media Center will:

• Work as a collaborative partnership with others in order to meet the needs of its patrons.

• Stay on the cutting edge of technology in order to guide learners to use the latest and most up-to-date resources.

• Empower students to build informational literacy skills.

• Promote Literacy by motivating students to become life-long readers.

• Work with teachers to build curriculum lessons and units that promote inquiry learning.

• Be a classroom for learning for all ages.

• Work with others to measure the outcomes of learning in order to set goals.
