Celebrating Excellence and an Enduring Legacy
Last night, the Spencer County Board of Education proudly recognized an extraordinary group of seniors from Spencer County High School Band, along with their outstanding director, Tara Alcorn.
This recognition honored more than just a successful seasonโit celebrated a legacy of excellence that these students have built throughout their high school journey.
In addition to their remarkable accomplishments, these seniors were presented with the โRow the Boatโ Award for the monthโrecognizing their leadership, energy, sacrifice, and vision. They have truly set the standard for what it means to be a Bear.

KMEA District 5 Assessment
The SCHS Band earned the highest possible rating of High Distinction, receiving a perfect score from all three judges and in sight reading. Out of more than 50 bands, they were one of only two to earn this honor.

Today is National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, and we are proud to celebrate the incredible men and women who safely transport our students each and every day.
