National Honor Society hosting free day care on Saturday!

Spencer County Community,
Due to forecasted inclement weather tomorrow during the early morning commute and through the afternoon, Spencer County Schools will utilize NTI Day #6 on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025.
An independent decision will be made regarding Tiger Cub Village, and they will communicate with their parents accordingly.
Stay safe and have a great day!

The Spencer County Board of Educationโs February 11, 2025 Scheduled Work Session has been RESCHEDULED for Monday, February 24 @ 5:00 pm. This will be a โSpecial Called Work Sessionโ. The Regular Monthly Meeting will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Happy Monday, Spencer County!
I wanted to give our community a heads-up about tomorrowโs (Tuesday, February 11, 2025) forecasted winter weather and the potential for school closure.
This decision could be challenging due to uncertain timing and temperature shiftsโjust a few degrees or hours could significantly impact conditions. Along with frozen precipitation, flooding is also a concern.
Our team will participate in a National Weather Service update this afternoon and closely monitor local forecasts. While we may not be able to decide today or tonight, we will announce any closures by 5 AM tomorrow.
In the meantime, we encourage students, staff, and families to prepare for a potential Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) day.
Thank you for your support and patienceโthis winter has certainly been one to remember!
Best,
Dr. Willie Foster, Superintendent
Spencer County Schools

Spencer County Community,
Due to the continued illness rate among our staff and students, Spencer County Schools will be closed on February 6th and 7th. This will be a TRADITIONAL CLOSURE. We will NOT utilize Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI).
These days will be made up at the end of the year.
TigerCub Village will be closed as well.
All school events and activities are canceled through the weekend.
A little more on why:
* Maximizing Instructional Time โ While NTI can be effective, extended remote learning makes it difficult to provide meaningful instruction.
* Deep Cleaning & Sanitization โ Our custodial teams need uninterrupted time to disinfect all school buildings thoroughly.
* Student & Staff Well-Being โ We must take additional steps to mitigate the illness rate.
Our top priority is the health and safety of our school community. We encourage everyone to take necessary precautions, get plenty of rest, and focus on recovery. If you have any questions, please contact your school.
Feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns.
Thank you for your understanding and support. Stay healthy, and take care!

๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ will be ๐๐๐๐ on a normal schedule.
After assessing bus routes today, we found that while our majority of our roads are in excellent condition, several challenges remain, including low-hanging tree limbs and multiple parked cars in cul-de-sacs and turnarounds. To ensure the safety of our students and drivers, we believe it would be beneficial for drivers to complete their routes after daylight hours. With the expected sunshine tomorrow, we anticipate more melting to occur, further improving turnaround conditions.
We kindly ask that, if possible, keep cul-de-sacs clear of cars to help our buses navigate turnarounds safely.
Thank you for your understanding! We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow morning!

Due to current impact of the winter storm, all Spencer County Schools, Tiger Cub Village, and our Central Office will be closed tomorrow, January 6, 2025.
As a reminder, tomorrow was already designated as a District Professional Development Day for staff, so no classes were scheduled for students.
We will continue to monitor the stormโs impact, including potential power outages, and will make a decision regarding school for Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as soon as possible.
