Today our SCES Dance Team performs at Western Hills HS in Frankfort, KY at the KDCO State Competition. Our Cubs hit the floor at 2:50 and 3:50 in hopes for a state title. Good Luck, Cubs!

🐻💙 SCES Cub Café just got an UPGRADE! 💙🐻 We are beyond THANKFUL for our amazing PTO and for the incredible support from our APEX Fundraiser that helped bring this vision to life! Because of YOU, we were able to add fun, flexible new seating to our Cub Café — a project that impacts all 800 of our Cubs! 🪑✨ Students will rotate during lunch so everyone gets a chance to enjoy the awesome new café tables, making lunchtime even more exciting and engaging! 🍽️🎉 And we’re not done yet… 👀 More redesign is on the way as we continue working toward our goal of creating a cafeteria space that is: 💬 Collaborative 🎨 Flexible 📚 Used for more than just eating ❤️ A place our Cubs LOVE to be Thank you for helping us create spaces where our students can Love. ❤️🩺 Kindergarten Cardiology in Action! 🩺❤️ Ms. Hutchins’ kindergarten classroom was full of heart-pumping fun during Cardiology Day! Our tiny doctors and nurses in training explored all kinds of heart activities—even real ones! 🫀😲 Students showed off their skills as Problem Solvers and Empowered Learners, asking great questions, making observations, and learning how the heart helps our bodies work. They were also Effective Communicators as they shared discoveries with friends. What a fun and meaningful way to love, learn, and lead—one heartbeat at a time! 💙🐾

We are so thankful for Mrs. Lauren Edwards, our incredible Family Resource & Youth Services Coordinator here at SCES! While much of her work happens quietly behind the scenes, the impact she makes is felt every single day by our students, families, and staff. From connecting families with resources, supporting students’ basic needs, organizing programs, and stepping in wherever help is needed—Mrs. Edwards works tirelessly to make sure every Cub feels supported, cared for, and set up for success. 🐾✨ Her heart for kids, dedication to families, and commitment to our school community truly embody what SCES is all about. 🎶🪕 A Musical Treat for Our Cubs! 🪕🎶 Mrs. Dunning’s, Mrs. Peters’, and Ms. Miles’ classes enjoyed a special musical visit on Friday from Ricky Burch! Mr. Burch shared his amazing talent by playing the banjo and fiddle, giving our students a memorable and joyful music experience. 🎻✨ Our Cubs were wonderful Effective Communicators and Engaged Citizens as they listened, learned, and showed appreciation for live music and the arts. Experiences like this help grow our students as Empowered Learners while sparking creativity and curiosity! 💙🐾 Thank you, Mr. Burch, for this incredible opportunity—another great example of how we love, learn, and lead at SCES!

📚🏈 READBowl Wrap-Up Fun in 2nd Grade! 🏈📚 Ms. Miles’s 2nd grade Cubs wrapped up the READBowl in a special way by being Engaged Citizens! 💙📖 Our older siblings joined us to read aloud, making the celebration extra meaningful and full of smiles. Sharing stories together helped our Cubs grow as Effective Communicators and Empowered Learners, while strengthening the connections that make our school feel like family. 🐾✨ What a wonderful way to love, learn, and lead—together!

🏈📣 Shoutout to Ms. Coot’s 4th Grade Class! 📐✨ On Friday, Ms. Coot’s class built football fields and practiced “kicking field goals” to work on math conversions! 🏟️➕ They showed teamwork, creativity, and took charge of their learning as true empowered learners. 👏🧠 Way to learn, lead, and have fun! 🐾💙
