Our Office of Educational Technology has been made aware of a hazardous trend circulating on social media platforms, particularly TikTok. Students are being encouraged to insert conductive materials—such as pencils, aluminum foil, or paper clips—into USB and other ports on school-issued Chromebooks. The intent is to create sparks and smoke, often leading to fires. This behavior poses significant health and safety risks. Tampering with electronic devices can cause short circuits, potentially igniting fires. Such actions can render Chromebooks inoperable. We urge all parents and guardians to have immediate conversations with their children about the dangers of participating in this or any similar challenges.

They trotted through fun activities that taught them why Kentucky is such a special place to live 💙🌾🏇 We love being engaged citizens 🇺🇸 by celebrating what makes the Bluegrass State unique!

Our Cubs had a galloping good time this week learning all about the tradition of the Kentucky Derby! 🐎🌹📚 Students participated in Derby parades 🎉, read stories about the Derby 📖, and raced through Derby-themed math facts ➕🧠. Principal Appreciation Day at SCES! 🎉💙🎓 Today, our Cubs celebrated Principal Appreciation Day in the most fun way—by dressing like Mr. Scott and Mrs. Dennis! 👔👩‍🏫 This special dress-up day was chosen by our Cub Easton after winning at the Fall Festival—what a creative idea! Mr. Scott and Mrs. Dennis loved seeing all the mini versions of themselves around the school and feel so lucky to lead such an amazing community of learners. Every day at SCES, we Love. Learn.
