Spencer County Community,
We want to make you aware that a water main break in the area has led Spencer County High School to cancel after-school activities today. Our team is in constant communication with the City, and we are grateful for their quick response and partnership.
At this time, we do not anticipate any impact on school operations for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 3, 2025. If that changes for any reason, we will notify you immediately.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to keep things running smoothly.
Dr. Willie Foster

Here is the breakfast and lunch menu for September!

Mrs Huttโs reading classes began a reading incentive this week. Once a student reads a book, they summarize it and earn a bead for their necklace. We canโt wait to see how colorful our necklaces get!

TES Families: Students need to wear their house shirt or house colors tomorrow for our house assembly! We will sort our new students!

Last week TES kindergarteners enjoyed reading and learning about the folktales, The 3 Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. They practiced being active collaborators by acting out the stories. And, they ended the week by building the 3 little pigsโ houses during a special snack time.

Our 5th graders are stepping back in time to the 1960s as we get ready to dive into our new novel study The Watsons Go to Birmingham! ๐
This week, students explored what life was like during that decade - discovering 60s fashion, culture, and entertainment. The best part? Learning how to dance The Twist! ๐บ๐ผ
Weโre so excited to see how this background knowledge brings the story to life in the weeks ahead.

Attention all 3rd, 4th, & 5th Grade Girls!!!

TES Families: Gray house shirts are available NOW! Each design is available as a T-Shirt, Long Sleeve, & Sweatshirt. Regular house shirts are available starting tomorrow. Paper forms will be sent home tomorrow!

Spencer County Community;
As we navigate this young school year, we want to ensure our district communication systems are a point of pride. Your ability to receive timely and accurate information, especially during an emergency, is one of our top priorities.
Today, we are conducting a comprehensive test of our communication systems, which includes phone calls, text messages, emails, and app notifications. This test will help us verify that our systems are working correctly and that your contact information is up to date.
To help us ensure a seamless communication experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you take a few moments to do the following:
Update Your Information: Whenever you change your phone number or email address, please call your child's school or the district office to have your contact information updated. We can't reach you if our records aren't accurate!
Keep Your SC Schools App Updated: Please make sure the SC Schools app is installed and regularly UPDATED on your device and that notifications are turned ON. This is one of the fastest ways we will communicate important information.
Let Us Know If You Didn't Receive It: If you did not receive this message as a phone call, text, email, and app notification, please let us know so we can help resolve the issue for you.
Thank you for your partnership. We are committed to making sure we can connect with every one of our families. We look forward to a fantastic school year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Willie Foster,
Superintendent
