Grandparents Day wrapped up yesterday with 2nd and 3rd grade students! Thank you to all of our grandparents and families who came to eat lunch with your students. Big thank you to our volunteers, PTO, and cafeteria staff for making this a special week for everyone!

Today, Mrs. Brooks’ 5th grade students were in Mr. Rovetto’s class for a fun and engaging activity. Students practiced their quick math facts using mental math strategies — keeping their brains sharp while having a great time! 🧠➕✖️ We love seeing our Tigers working together and growing their skills during WIN time! 🐯💡

Mrs Hutt’s reading classes began a reading incentive this week. Once a student reads a book, they summarize it and earn a bead for their necklace. We can’t wait to see how colorful our necklaces get!

Last week TES kindergarteners enjoyed reading and learning about the folktales, The 3 Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. They practiced being active collaborators by acting out the stories. And, they ended the week by building the 3 little pigs’ houses during a special snack time.

Our 5th graders are stepping back in time to the 1960s as we get ready to dive into our new novel study The Watsons Go to Birmingham! 📚 This week, students explored what life was like during that decade - discovering 60s fashion, culture, and entertainment. The best part? Learning how to dance The Twist! 🕺🏼 We’re so excited to see how this background knowledge brings the story to life in the weeks ahead.
