Ms. Voegeleโ€™s third grade class earned a surprise reward today for their great effort on the Kentucky State Assessment last week! โ€œCamping Dayโ€ included sitting in tents, solving mysteries while pretending to be detectives, and enjoying sโ€™moreโ€™s after lunch. They also put their STEM skills to work deciding how to create more space under each tent. It was pretty tight.ย ย You can see how their creativity was flowing!

Our Office of Educational Technology has been made aware of a hazardous trend circulating on social media platforms, particularly TikTok. Students are being encouraged to insert conductive materialsโ€”such as pencils, aluminum foil, or paper clipsโ€”into USB and other ports on school-issued Chromebooks. The intent is to create sparks and smoke, often leading to fires. This behavior poses significant health and safety risks. Tampering with electronic devices can cause short circuits, potentially igniting fires. Such actions can render Chromebooks inoperable. We urge all parents and guardians to have immediate conversations with their children about the dangers of participating in this or any similar challenges.

2nd Grade held their first ever Literacy Lock-In for their classes last week! Students stayed after school for several hours where they were engaged in reading/writing activities that centered around books written by popular children's book author, Cynthia Rylant. They had snacks to go along with each book they studied, did activities and a craft, ate pizza for dinner, and finished the night watching some of Rylant's other books being read aloud to them while cozied up in pajamas and sleeping bags. It was a great celebration of all the learning they have done this year!
