🌱💚 Growing Minds in STEAM at SCES! 💚🌱 A huge thank you to the Spencer County Conservation District Board for the generous grant that is bringing hands-on learning to life in our STEAM classes! 🙌✨ Our Cubs have been digging into real-world science and agriculture in exciting ways: 🪏 2nd grade explored soil types, weathering, and erosion 🐝 3rd grade investigated plant life cycles, pollinators, and environmental stewardship 🍌🌺 Garden Club discovered the magic of composting (yes… they made a banana disappear!) and used nutrient-rich soil to plant beautiful Mother’s Day flowers Through these experiences, our students are growing as Engaged Citizens, Problem Solvers, and Empowered Learners—making meaningful connections to the world around them. 🌎💡 We’re so grateful for community partners who help our Cubs love, learn, and lead while connecting to the land and resources around them! 🐾💙

🏇🌹 Derby Day Fun in Mrs. Mac’s Class! 🌹🏇 On Friday, Mrs. Mac’s Cubs had a derby-tastic time celebrating! 🎉 They learned all about what jockeys wear from Ms. Tiffany, even getting to try on goggles and check out a real helmet and silks. 🪖👓✨ The fun continued as students became Active Collaborators and Empowered Learners, decorating and naming their very own horses before racing them in their own classroom Derby! 🐎💨 What a fun-filled day of creativity, learning, and school spirit—just another way our Cubs love, learn, and lead! 💙🐾

🐻➡️🐾 Future Grizzlies in Action! 🐾➡️🐻 On Monday, our 5th grade Cubs took an exciting step toward their next chapter with a visit to the middle school! 💙✨ They ate lunch with 5th graders from TES, toured the building, visited classrooms, and learned all about what middle school life will be like. Students also heard from Mrs. Demyan, their future principal, and enjoyed a special drama performance that gave them a glimpse into all the opportunities ahead. 🎭👏 Our Cubs represented SCES so well as Engaged Citizens and Effective Communicators, asking questions, making connections, and getting excited for what’s next! 🌟 We are so proud of them as they continue to love, learn, and lead into this next adventure! 🐾💙

💐✨ Mother’s Day “Spa-tacular” in Mrs. Peters’ & Ms. Emily’s Class! ✨💐 What a pamazing day celebrating our incredible moms! 💖 In Mrs. Peters’ and Ms. Emily’s class, our Mother’s Day Spa-tacular was full of love, laughter, and a little relaxation for our special guests. Moms were treated to a variety of fun stations including: 💅 a manicure station, 💇‍♀️ a hair salon station, 🤲 a hand massage station, 📿 bracelet making, 📚 a reading & coloring station, and a yummy refreshment station with cookies, juice, and pretzels! 🍪🥨🧃 Our Cubs were shining as Effective Communicators and Engaged Citizens, welcoming their guests, helping at stations, and showing appreciation for the important women in their lives. 💕 It was a beautiful day full of smiles as we continue to love, learn, and lead together at SCES! 🐾💙

Today at SCES, we had the incredible opportunity to host the two high bidders from our Fall Festival for their Kentucky Derby backside pass experience! 🏇🎟️ We love being able to provide unique, one-of-a-kind opportunities for our Cub families—and this one did not disappoint. 🐾💙 There’s a good chance they even found themselves in the barn with the current Derby favorite… 👀🐎 talk about an unforgettable experience! 🦋✨ Butterfly Release Day in Kindergarten! ✨🦋 Ms. Hutchins and Ms. Marissa’s kindergarten Cubs said a sweet goodbye to their butterfly friends as they released them into the world yesterday! 🌸🌿 Afterward, students came back inside to write about where they think their butterflies will fly and what adventures they’ll have. 💭✍️ Our Cubs were shining as Empowered Learners and Effective Communicators, using their imaginations and writing skills to bring their ideas to life! Such exciting moments of growth, curiosity, and wonder—just another way we love, learn, and lead in kindergarten! 💙🐾

💙🏃‍♀️ Mrs. Mac's Class Fun! 🏃‍♂️💙 Mrs. Mac’s class had an amazing time attending Wildcat Wars at Henry County High School! 🎉🐾 They stayed active by playing games, running races, and enjoying time with friends from three other schools—plus a special McDonald’s treat! 🍟😄 Our Cubs were shining examples of Engaged Citizens, showing teamwork, sportsmanship, and school pride throughout the day. 🙌💫 What a fun-filled experience where our students continue to love, learn, and lead—both in and out of the classroom! 💙🐾
