🍎🍏 An Apple-mazing Week in Kindergarten! 🍏🍎 Mrs. White’s and Mrs. Nicole’s Cubs had a peel-ing good time studying apples last week! 🍎✨ Our young Empowered Learners explored several varieties of apples and picked their favorites before getting busy in the kitchen! 🧑‍🍳 They made delicious caramel apples, apple pie, and applesauce! 🥧🍏 But the fun didn’t stop there! Our Cubs became scientists and Problem Solvers as they made predictions about whether whole apples, apple slices, apple peels, stems, and seeds would sink or float. 🔬💦 Then, they put their predictions to the test! 🍎 What’s your prediction? Over the past few weeks, students explored important lessons about traffic safety, bike safety, fire safety, and the importance of wearing helmets. 🪖🚒 We love seeing our Cubs become Empowered Learners as they build the knowledge and skills to make safe choices every day! 💙🐻 Love. 🍎🥄 Applesauce Fun in Kindergarten! 🥄🍎 On Thursday, Miss Hutchins’ friends in kindergarten were Empowered Learners and Active Collaborators as they worked together to make homemade applesauce! They practiced teamwork, followed directions, and enjoyed watching their hard work turn into a delicious treat. ❤️🍏 It was definitely a yummy day of learning! 😋

🎉🥤 Level Up in the Lexia Lounge! 📚✨ In Mrs. Tobbe's class, 13 students earned a special trip to the Lexia Lounge for leveling up! 🎯🏆 We are so proud of these Cubs for putting in the hard work, staying focused, and making progress in their learning! 📖💙 Keep leveling up, Cubs! 🚀🐾 Love. Mrs. Thomas' third graders were excited to welcome their grandparents for a special Grandparents Day and wanted to share some of the pictures! As active collaborators and engaged citizens, students had the opportunity to learn, connect, and share meaningful experiences with their special guests. Grandparents visited their grandchildren’s classrooms, where students interviewed them about what life was like when they were younger. Together, they played Bingo, enjoyed lunch, and explored the book fair. It was a wonderful day filled with laughter, learning, and connection across generations!

We love seeing our Cubs take their learning beyond the classroom! 💙🐻

After learning about graphic design in STEAM, our 5th-grade student Jaxson was inspired to take what he learned and create something of his own at home! He designed this awesome graphic to help us share all the fun happening at our upcoming SCES Fall Festival! 🍂🎟️

Jaxson is demonstrating what it means to be an Empowered Learner by taking initiative, applying a new skill independently, and using his learning for an authentic purpose. He is also being an Effective Communicator by using graphic design to clearly and creatively share information with our school community.

This is exactly what we want for our Cubs, learning new skills, finding ways to use them in the real world, and confidently sharing their talents with others! 🌟
