What a Monday! We had a fantastic day with visitors from SCHS for the Senior Walk through and TES for the incoming 6th grade tours! 7th grade went to Malibu Jacks and several our students went to Bellarmine for a campus tour and Esports session! Plus, all grade levels got to enter the Grizzle Raffle and spend their PBIS points they've been earning all year!

While everyone else is kicking off their sandals, weโre kicking off hiring season for the 2025โ26 school year at Spencer County Schools. Weโre on the lookout for top-notch certified and classified staff who can bring energy, heart, and a solid coffee game to our team.
Apply now and give us a reason to stop refreshing the applicant portal.

Ms. Burch and Mr. Stephenson did a wonderful job preparing our 8th graders for their defenses that we wrapped up this afternoon. We are so proud of the students and their hard work, and can't thank our community enough for their help scoring them!

Today was a delicious success in our Career Exploration Lab! Even though our guest chef had to cancel last minute, our students didnโt miss a beat-they rolled up their sleeves and dove right into the world of culinary arts!
From learning what it really takes to be a chef to exploring the art of plating and garnishing, these future chefs showed creativity, teamwork, and tons of enthusiasm. Who knew learning about careers could look (and taste) this good?

Dear Spencer County Families,
Due to the threat of severe weather forecasted for this afternoon/evening, and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students and staff, we will be releasing students early today, Friday, May 16, 2025.
Early Dismissal Times will be:
Middle and High School: 1:00 PM
Elementary Schools: 2:10 PM
We understand this may require adjustments to your afternoon plans, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the well-being of everyone in our community. This change in our schedule is done in hopes that each of you can be home and off the roads before the worst of the weather arrives.
Please stay safe and alert to local weather updates throughout the day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Willie Foster
Superintendent
Spencer County Schools

Spencer County Families,
We are aware of the threat for severe weather tomorrow afternoon during dismissal and bus routes. We are closely monitoring updates from the National Weather Service. We want to inform you that there is a possibility that Spencer County Schools will need to dismiss early on Friday, May 16th. At this time, no final decision has been made, and one will not be made until tomorrow.
We strongly encourage families to have a plan in place in case a change becomes necessary during the school day. Any updates, including dismissal times, will be shared as soon as they are available through our usual communication channels. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.
Thank you for your flexibility and continued support.
